At the request of ArcelorMittal Bremen, OHB Digital Services is converting an application for recording and managing the zinc slabs from Windows CE to Android OS in order to modernize the technology used.

Simple solutions - big impact

Instead of manually recording individual zinc slabs, which is prone to errors, deliveries can now be recorded as a whole. In future, the color coding of the zinc slabs will be recorded directly on delivery using a barcode scanner for each truck delivery. The zinc slabs are color-coded on the front sides according to international standards. The previous manual selection of each individual slab is no longer necessary. This results in significant time savings in the work process, as color selection is now approx. 10 times faster than before. The permissible zinc slab color codes per system can be viewed and thus regulate the inflow to the Bregal1 and Bregal2 galvanizing systems. This small adjustment has a big impact, making the recording process less error-prone and more efficient. The software also enables holistic management of the zinc slabs, from delivery and storage to use and inspection through to dispatch and inventory.
