OCEANIDS project

User-driven applications and tools for climate-informed maritime spatial planning and integrated seascape management, for a resilient and inclusive blue economy.

Project description:

OCEANIDS is a project developing user-centric applications and tools to support regional authorities and stakeholders in promoting a resilient and inclusive blue economy in coastal regions. A cloud-based platform for maritime spatial planning will collect, harmonize and curate existing climate data and earth observation services under a single access window and complement them with tailored services.

Goals and objectives:

The overall aim of the project is to develop tools and applications that enable a more resilient and inclusive society in coastal regions through better informed and integrated management of the seascape.

By combining climate data services and the developed services on one platform, the end users belonging to the consortium will be able to make climate-science-based decisions for the planning of their maritime spatial planning.

The role of OHB-DS:

OHB DS is leading the collaborative development of a cloud-based and integrated EO and geospatial data platform with a single access window for spatial data. Due to OHB DS' focus on earth observation data, this also includes the definition of requirements and specifications for new services, such as a coastline monitoring service to analyze coastal dynamics.
