product designed to monitor tidal bathymetry. It visualizes the most recent position of the low-water line, which is derived from optical imagery from the Landsat and Sentinel-2 satellites in combination with a tidal model. This contour line delineates the bathymetry at low tide and can be used to:<\/p><ul><li>To provide near-real-time information on bathymetric conditions in the tidal zone.<\/li><li>To highlight the presence of transient features such as sandbars, shoals, and navigation channels.<\/li><li>To identify potential obstacles that could impede navigation through port entrances and delay operations.<\/li><li>To support better planning and execution of dredging operations by tracking past sediment transport rates and the direction of sand movement.<\/li><li>Provides insights into historical and current changes in tidal bathymetry, thereby aiding in the effective planning of maritime operations.<\/li><\/ul><p>The EO application is publicly available on EDITO (European Digital Twin of the Ocean) at<a href=\"https:\/\/eotideline.lab.dive.edito.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0https:\/\/eotideline.lab.dive.edito.eu\/<\/a>.<\/p><p>An example of the migration of sandbars at the entrance to the Port of Hamburg (Elbe) is shown below.
