What is rail temperature monitoring?

Rail temperature monitoring refers to the continuous monitoring of the temperature of railroad tracks to prevent safety risks such as warping or track breaks. Rails are sensitive to temperature fluctuations, which can lead to structural problems, particularly under extreme weather conditions.

The goal is to detect thermal stresses, deformations, and material fatigue at an early stage, thereby minimizing safety risks in rail transport.
