SPRINT4EO is bringing disruptive technologies to Earth observation through short, streamlined research sprints coordinated by OHB-DS. The ESA project focuses on agile prototypes, evidence-based results, and a roadmap for scaling.

Project description

SPRINT4EO is establishing an agile framework to rapidly integrate the latest key technologies into Earth observation in a practical manner. As part of the ESA initiative “EO Foresight Exploratory Sprints,” highly innovative players from cutting-edge industries are involved in short, results-oriented research sprints to accelerate spin-ins into Earth observation and strengthen Europe’s competitiveness.

The role of OHB-DS

OHB Digital Services (OHB-DS) designs and coordinates SPRINT4EO, involves suitable implementers and provides EO data access, quality assurance and evaluation of the results. The approach is based on a lean, Scrum-inspired procedure with clear sprint goals, regular reviews and iterative improvement. The focus is on rapid prototypes, robust evidence and reuse.
