OCEANIDS

User-driven applications and tools for climate-informed maritime spatial planning and integrated seascape management, for a resilient and inclusive blue economy.

Project description:

OCEANIDS is a project that develops user-oriented applications and tools to support regional authorities and stakeholders in promoting a resilient and inclusive blue economy in coastal regions. A cloud-based platform for maritime spatial planning will collect, harmonize, and curate existing climate data and Earth observation services under a single access window, supplementing them with tailored services.

Coastal Change Monitoring service: 437382754 0ca65912 af79 4e26 b065 cc785356dfb5

Goals and objectives:

The overall aim of the project is to develop tools and applications that enable a more resilient and inclusive society in coastal regions through better informed and integrated management of the seascape.

By combining climate data services and the developed services on one platform, the end users belonging to the consortium will be able to make climate-science-based decisions for the planning of their maritime spatial planning.

The role of OHB-DS:

OHB DS is developing a cloud-based, integrated platform for Earth observation and geodata with a central access window for spatial and climate data (from Copernicus products and ECMWF reanalyses). With a focus on Earth observation data, OHB has also developed the satellite-based data service "Coastal Change Monitoring," which provides long-term time series of coastal changes for the period from 1984 to 2026.

Further information about the project and access to the open access platform can be found at www.oceanids-project.eu.
