Security Awareness

Awareness training and programs designed to promote employee security awareness play a central role in a sound cybersecurity strategy.

Security awareness refers to employees’ awareness of and understanding of security threats and practices. Through targeted training and programs, employees are made aware of potential security risks and adjust their behavior accordingly. Since employees are often the weakest link in the security chain, it is important to train them through security awareness programs. This reduces the risk of human error that could lead to security incidents. A well-informed workforce is therefore the first step toward a secure organization.

What is awareness?

Security awarenessin the field of cybersecurity refers to knowledge about cyber threats, risks, and related security practices. Security awareness also involves recognizingthat people are the greatest IT risk. But the good news is: people can learn.

With this approach, we have made it our goal to provide our customers with a comprehensive learning experience in the field of cybersecurity awareness—whether through interactive workshops, informative videos, or regular updates on the latest criminal tactics. Through regular assessments, we can track and ensure your employees’ progress in this area.

Protection– The White Team

Awareness programs designed to promote employee security awareness are playing an increasingly important role in a robust cybersecurity strategy. For example, trained users are crucial for detecting and stopping phishing attacks, which can easily bypass your technical perimeter defenses and quickly penetrate deep into your system via compromised passwords. Off-the-shelf awareness solutions are widely available, but it remains unclear whether they are a good fit for your organization, processes, and IT environment. What measures, processes, or reports are actually required, at a minimum, to achieve the desired compliance? Our White Team helps you answer these questions and offers security awareness training and workshops tailored to your specific situation.

Humans as a gateway

We are living in times of upheaval. Concepts like working from home and remote work have become part of our daily lives. It is precisely in times like these that it becomes increasingly important to rely on well-trained employees—at every level of the company, from IT staff to the executive board to office staff. All employees should be well-informed so they can make the best possible decisions for their company and protect themselves and their company from harm caused by criminals.

All it takes is opening a malicious attachment or entering personal information on websites that appear to be legitimate to give cybercriminals access to your IT infrastructure and systems—and, by extension, to your most valuable data.

Cybersecurity awareness is designed precisely to engage all employees and show them the value of using the internet and all the programs they use safely.

Which companies should undergo awareness training?

According to Microsoft, 71% of cyberattacks target small and medium-sized businesses. A successful attack costs a company an average of approximately €774,000, leading 60% of these businesses to close. These figures are alarming and have been rising for years.

It is now important to foster a corporate culture in which every employee is aware of the risks posed by such an attack and knows how to act to protect both the company and themselves.

As a first step, our customers often opt for a vulnerability assessment.

Awareness training tailored to your needs

There are many off-the-shelf awareness solutions available; however, it remains to be seen whether they are a good fit for your organization, processes, and IT environment. Depending on your needs and preferences, we can provide recommendations for a customized awareness training program—whether active or passive, in the form of workshops or videos. Together, we will find the right solution for you and your company.

To track individual progress, it’s a good idea to conduct regular phishing simulations.
