What is Urban Heat Islands Monitoring

Urban heat island (UHI) monitoring refers to the monitoring and analysis of temperature differences in cities using earth observation technologies such as satellites or ground-based sensors. This involves investigating the so-called urban heat island effect (UHI effect), in which urban areas are significantly warmer than their rural surroundings.
